Rotary Club of Ventura
Rotary of Ventura, “ The Friendliest Club in Rotary,” welcomed me with warmth and kindness. After a delicious lunch at the beautiful Poinsettia Pavilion, they briefly discussed their projects and then played a delightful game about presidential dogs to raise money for local charities. I learned that the common dog name, Fido, began with Abraham Lincoln’s mixed-breed dog, after which many dogs carried on that name.
I then talked about my experiences as an immigrant rights advocate that led me to write my novels, LUZ, and my April 2023 release, JOSIE AND VIC. Afterwards, I answered thoughtful questions and signed books. A number of them had read LUZ for their bookclub.
I’m so grateful for a very special afternoon! Ventura Rotary Club 💖🙏🏼🕯
