With the cash prize that came with winning the 2020 Next Generation Indie Book Award in Multicultural Fiction, I made a donation to United We Dream to support the fight for DACA dreamers who deserve to stay in their home country, the US. I also bought this lovely Diego Rivera print, the Flower Seller, to hang above the bookshelf with my medal, including the medal necklace made by my four-year old grandson, Calvin. I am so grateful for the reception that Luz has received since its release just one month ago.
